THE MATH, MADE CLEAR

How this estimate works

Each carton type is calculated separately. That matters: combining actual and dimensional weights across the entire shipment can understate the billable total.

  1. Measure the outside of the box.Use consistent units for length, width, and height. Dimensions represent the packed carton, including any protrusions.
  2. Apply your dimensional divisor.Dimensional weight = length × width × height ÷ divisor. The divisor is an editable planning assumption, not a verified carrier quote.
  3. Compare per-carton weights.Choose the larger of actual and dimensional weight for each carton. If enabled, round each weight up to a whole kg or lb before multiplying by quantity.
  4. Review the carrier’s full rules. This estimate does not apply dimension rounding, oversize fees, minimum charges, service restrictions, or live shipping prices.
