THE THINKING BEHIND THE ANSWER

How this calculation works

A light, bulky parcel can have a dimensional weight above its actual weight. This comparison uses centimeters and kilograms throughout. Set the divisor and rounding option to match your carrier and service; it does not quote a shipping price.

Dimensional kg = length × width × height ÷ divisor. Chargeable basis per box = max(actual kg, dimensional kg).

Your calculation, step by step

  1. 60 × 40 × 30 ÷ 5,000 = 14.4 kg dimensional weight.
  2. Use the greater of actual and dimensional weight: 14.4 kg.
  3. Multiply by 1 boxes.
A worked example

A 60 × 40 × 30 cm box with divisor 5,000 has dimensional weight 14.4 kg. If it actually weighs 8 kg, the unrounded chargeable basis is 14.4 kg.
