THE THINKING BEHIND THE ANSWER

How this calculation works

The dates are evaluated in a time-zone-independent calendar. Weekday totals count Monday through Friday using your selected inclusion rule; they do not remove public holidays or account for local working-week conventions.

Elapsed days = end date − start date. Inclusive count = elapsed days + 1.

Your calculation, step by step

  1. There are 28 elapsed calendar days between these dates.
  2. Exclude the start date and include the end date.
A worked example

October 1 to October 29 is 28 elapsed days, or 29 days including both dates.
